A busy day with everything coming at once this week. Three runners, all at different meetings. Buxted Reel will be our first runner, 2:30 at Bangor. The step up in trip will suit, a very open race with many holding chances by the looks of it. Hedge Fund runs at Haydock, this horse needs a bit of luck and to help himself. Howth toughed it out at Newton Abbot yesterday on ground he didn't like to win his fourth race from five starts over hurdles. Giving 17lb to a last time out winner was a good effort. The win was our 26th of the year, with plenty of them provided by Tom Lacey & Stan Sheppard. We team up with that due again today in the first race at Worcester with Let's Sail Away.LSA made a nice chasing debut...

Howth makes the journey to Newton Abbot today, where we hope the rain holds off. Howth's only defeat over hurdles so far came on good to soft ground at Uttoxeter. A double penalty is carried, not many horses can win giving 12lbs away. This isn't ideal, but the race is the only option we have and Howth needs to run. Manhattan Mirage runs at Southwell today in the 5:08. Family fun day, so no doubt a big crowd will be seen.Manhattan Mirage is crying out for soft ground, but that doesn't seem to be coming anytime soon. A stiff six at Southwell is the only option at the moment, if they go hard, MM will finish his race off well.

Knights Affair got the week off to a great start with a win at Stratford on Monday. Given a will timed ride by Gavin Sheehan, Knights Affair has taken to jumping well, his form now reads 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 1st since we bought him.  This win was our 25th of the year. Squeezebox was a smart winner on his hurdles debut at Market Rasen on Saturday. Given an excellent front running ride from Stan Sheppard, Squeezy enjoyed the switch to hurdles and did it well. Bona Fortuna runs at Epsom this afternoon in the 3:15. A small field of five runners but wide open. Two of the runners have form at Epsom so that's a big advantage, if Bono will handle the track, there is one way of finding out. If the racecourse is no bother, Bono should run well again, giving 10lb to Kisskodi could be tough, but our lad is in good form.

Mr Le Philosophe ran out an easy winner for his owners at Stratford yesterday. Phil is improving with each run, this very cheap horse is giving his owners a great summer of racing.
