Jamie Snowden nurtured a passion for racing from an early age, through Pony Club, hunting, and Point to Pointing. Whilst studying, he rode for Nigel Twiston Davies, Sue Smith & Chris Grant.
After a season as pupil assistant for trainer Paul Nicholls, Jamie then worked for three seasons as assistant trainer and amateur jockey to Nicky Henderson. Jamie rode in the region of 100 winners, including “First Love” for Her Majesty the Queen. Jamie started his own training career in 2008. Three years later and with 20 winners in the bag, a move to Folly House stables in Lambourn took place.
With the outstanding Lambourn facilities on his doorstep Jamie has wasted no time in making a name for himself. Present View won the Rewards4Racing novice chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
The winners keep flowing from Folly House with an excellent 20% win strike rate and previous totals surpassed each season.
Value Racing Club is delighted to be part of Jamie's continued success and growth.
Mick Appleby has been involved in horse racing from an early age. Mick started his career as a jockey, riding numerous winners. Training was always on the forefront of Mick’s mind and in 2008, he became head lad to Andrew Balding. Mick learnt his trade at the famous Kingsclere Stables working with top-class horses whilst gaining valuable experience.
In 2011, Mick had his first full season of training horses himself. Twenty winners was the season’s total. From then on, winners have flowed, with prize money regularly reaching £800,000 plus per season.
Now training at the purpose-built Langham stables, plenty of big race wins have been trained by Mick. The likes of Danzeno, “Group winner” Guishan and Big Country are familiar names that have done very well.
Value Racing Club are look forward to being involved in the yard’s current and future success.
Tom served his apprenticeship breaking-in and schooling young horses under the legendary Captain Charles Radclyffe. Tom also worked as a pupil assistant trainer in two prominent National Hunt stables and progressed to become Head Lad for one of the country's leading flat trainers.
Tom also rode successfully in Point-to-Points, having twenty-seven winners. Tom trains from Cottage Field Stables in a picturesque location in Herefordshire. In recent years, the yard's 20% win strike rate is second to none and a stat very few can match.
Big race wins include, Glory And Fortune, a Listed bumper winner at Cheltenham, Jester Jet & Thomas Patrick completed a big race double at the Aintree Grand National meeting.
Value Racing Club look forward to being part of the yard's future success.
Scotland’s leading trainer, Lucinda Russell OBE started training in 1995 at Arlary House Stables near Edinburgh. Lucinda works alongside her partner and multiple Champion Jockey, Peter Scudamore MBE.
Perhaps best known for winning the Grand National twice “so far” with One For Arthur in 2017 then Corach Rambler in 2023. Such results have seen the yard become one of the most successful in the country.
Other big race wins with the likes Might Thunder, Scottish National winner, Ahoy Senor, Brindisi Breeze to name a few have really put the yard on the map.
It’s rare you don’t see a runner in many of the big UK races from this yard, such is the growth and success achieved.
Value Racing Club is delighted to be involved with Lucinda and her team and look forward to plenty of great days out.
James started his career as a successful amateur jump jockey. He then moved to Newmarket and rode over 130 P2P winners. He was crowned East Anglian Champion Jumps Jockey nine times before joining John Ferguson as assistant trainer.
A pre-training business was started, whilst at the same time, James trained purebred Arabian horses as per his parents did. James won the ARO trainers champions five times and continues to train Arabian horses to this day.
James took out his full NH licence in 2023 and hit the ground running. Winning graded races in his first season with the likes of Burdett Road. The flat licence came a year later, and in his first season, trained Wimbledon Hawkeye to win a Group 2 race,
Currently running at a strike rate of over 20%, James and his team are doing incredibly well under both codes.
We very much look forward to being part of the yards future success.
Adrian is following the family history, which has been involved in horses for generations.
Having ridden over 200 winners and retiring as a jockey, the switch to training was the obvious move as per his late uncle David Wintle.
Adrian worked for Henrietta Knight for five years before taking out his licence.
Adrian is better known as a flat trainer and has made a name for himself buying others castoffs and improving them significantly.
With just a smaller string of horses, each horse has its own individual training program. The results of this can be seen with the healthy strike rate each season.
We look forward to working with Adrian and being part of this growing yard.
